I have recently been searching for a boost, but realized I was not totally satisfied with my Barber Direct Drive as an OD so I thought one of the 2in1 OD/Boost pedals would fit nicely. Which one is your fav and why? Zvex Super Duper, Burriss Boostiest, Gristle King etc.

I would like to keep it around the $200 mark or less. I like the overall tone the DD is giving me but I find I lose bass when I switch it on (one of the older models w/o the bass trim pot inside), so therefore I'm looking for a big thick OD with a nice transparent boost.

If you are looking for a dual boost. Then SD 2in1 (if you want a little sparkle and it really works cool with real old pickups) is awesome as is the twin 60 (if you want a completely transparent boost) If you want a boost/OD I would say either FD2 or TTS

I have yet to find one worth a damn... Two independent OD's will ALWAYS own a 2-in-1 unit. Unless it's Cornish, but I have yet to play one, much less ever seen one in real life. I didn't like the Fulldrive at all, the TTS was cool but didn't do it for me, I haven't tried any others like a ProAnalog, or a KoT, etc.... I'll keep my 808's, Expandora and Klon.. :) I might get a ZIM one day.... I like the fact that you can modify it to whatever you want.

+1 Foxrox Zim - the most versitile OD I have seen

    > 2 channels - run individually or stack them
    > Can switch out Zim cards so each channel does what you want it to
    > By far the most versitile and outrageous eq section of any OD pedal

It is like getting about 1000 different OD's - its that versitile

    used around $200

There is a Double Hotcake coming soon... I think it's priced around $200, possibility of one side being hotcake and the other bluesberry. This would be fantastic!

Hmm...no one mentioned the Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde.

Incredible pedal. Distortion and OD. OD side blows a TS9 clean AWAY as far as I am concerned, it has that little extra bite, less pronounced mid-hump, and is way more dynamic. The distortion side can be adjusted to sound really similar to the OD (I usually use it that way, to get two slightly different sounding but not over-the-top OD sounds) but can be upped as much as you want.

The dist feeds the OD, and the footswitches are great, placed just widely enough apart that it is no problem hitting either one alone (even with clodhopper boots) but also easily can hit both at the same time....really cool. Means you can go from both off to both one, etc, but even better, say you start a solo clean, hit one side for a mild boost, hit both for a slightly heavier boost (you've turned the mild one off at the same time as the more distorted one on) and then to go over the top, hit the mild one again for a stacked boost!
