Just checking to see which four tube 6V6 amps might be worth checking into. I know the Divided by 13 FRT 37 is well thought of. Any others? Thanks, Russ

Tone King Comet. Maybe it was just a bad one, but the Slant 6V I played didn't sound good to me.

The Marshall Fields "suitcase amp" with split chassis and 8x8" speaker cab, bwah-ha-ha... Actually a pretty cool sounding amp with a thick clean tone and sweet overdrive. Never seen a healthy one, I have the chassis built into a ghetto head box and run it thru regular speaker cabs and it sounds great.

My Tweed Twin clone running 4 JJ 6v6's. the amp had too much head room with 6l6's for me. The JJ are somewhere between 6L6's and NOS 6v6's.

I played a Fuchs ODS30 last weekend that sounded really nice. I believe it has 4 6v6's.

I have a Fuchs ODS Mod 30. 4 6V6's. 30-35ish watts. Pentode/triode, half power, reverb, four button footswitch, kitchen sink. Very versatile that sounds wonderful with just about any speakers I have here on hand. And, an absolute good move for me to go with that project. I keep finding new cool useful tones and features with this amp. Messing around with the FX loop finally last Sunday... I'm enjoying every minute of this cool amp very much!
Hard for me to believe that this was a pile of useless junk once, now turned into a workhorse with great tone. Thanks to Andy Fuchs, family and techs. for being there. Everyone at the shop was very kind to me!!!!! I would do the same thing 20 times over!!!
    Thanks for listening, gerry

Was that one on the Torres platform ? That puppy had a certain mojo when it was done... I really liked it too. Glad to see you're still enjoying it !

    Russ,
Hello. I have been playing a revised Tone King Meteor II for a few months. Compared to the first version I had, the chassis and rear panel layout was changed, the bright switch is now moved to the top of the chassis, and the lead channel has more bass and better balance with the rhythm channel.

Give me a call sometime and I'll tell you about it.

I had a Carr Slant 6V a few years ago.

+1 on the Carr Slant 6V. I love mine and would say it's at least worth "checking out".

Andy, that's the one! It is very tweakable and not afraid to give me different tones... Some amps have a sweetspot and then thats it.
You're right about the "mojo"... Unexplainable why this amp gives me something cool and different than the hour before...
Needless to say I'm having a lot of fun. Hope you keep up the mod service as I'm on the look out for another basket case amp. Andy, great job and I just can't say enough thanks!
