I second the Shallow Water. Its random modulation makes it a bit atypical for chorus pedals but also more authentic to tape deck chorusing. I could see it scratching a Martin Hannett itch.
My two favorites have already been mentioned but I'll add my vote.
For a simple analog chorus the Analogman Mini Chorus is the pedal that convinced me I do in fact like chorus. Super warm and musical sounding pedal, just works simply and beautifully and sounds good at every setting.
For a more advanced and quirky (potential) chorus, the CBA Warped Vinyl HiFi is what I have on my board right now. I actually don't use most of it's fancy functions, I don't ramp this one or anything, I just like it's basic chorus sound a lot and like having the tone and lag knobs available to shape things a little further.
DC-2W and 2 things I'll add is after reading a majority of users saying it pales thin if used in Mono vs. Stereo, that is not my experience. It sounds excellent in both. The O.G. DC-2 did have a fatter sound a little bump in the mid range and was really nice and I a/b'd the Waza vs the O.G. I chose the Waza because it has the extra modes which I like and it does introduce a little high end content when it is on.
The CE-2W and CE-5 Analog version as mentioned above are also both great. The CE-5 could get the most transparent of the Chorus's I tried. It got too transparent though so I launched it. The CE-2W like the DC-2W has the extra modes and the CE-1 mode in it is dynamite. I would go with the CE-2W out of those two.
