I can't remember the name. The plot was a little thin and the acting a bit ramshackle. But otherwise it was a captivating film.

I guess I must have a thing for very strong female leading roles!

It has Gary Busey. I thought that should be the default assumption.

True story. My buddy and I were having a beer at a bar years ago, and the young women at the table next to us were gushing about how cute and awesome some guy was that one of them met last night. His name? Johnny Utah
We did not have the heart to tell her.

OK...here we go. True confession & I'm prepared to embarrass myself in front of you all:

"Satisfaction" with Justine Bateman & Julia Roberts.

What can I say? I have no excuses.

Slapshot. It had it all - bad acting, Oscar winners, hockey, the Hanson Bros., crappy predictable plot, but still awesome!

That he's a lawyer and FBI agent? That he suffered that football ending injury at Notre Dame?

    They could simultaneously be true.

I dunno, I enjoy watching Point Break, but it's always struck me as not a well done movie. Something that MST3K could have a field day with.

I am laughing out loud. Thanks for that.
That entire occurrence would have only been made better if during her description she mentioned that at one point in the night, "Johnny Utah" yelled at her dramatically to say "I AM AN F (pause) B (pause) I (pause) AGENT!"
Edit - I do recall her saying he played college football though. Whoever weaved that web of lies had the entire movie to rely upon

I don't know. I think Bigelow did a hell of a job with that film. It's gorgeous to look at. It does a great job of capturing masculinity and masculine rights. I think it's quite well done -- unless you mean the remake. The remake is dreadful.
