I will pray for your ears.

We're all like that. Sort of.

    I don't particularly care for @$&# ~₩¥°¿, or the Г¬μ~^¥¤Ω §{ฯ`.

So, we're in the same boat.

It’s the slickness of aja that some of my friends also didn’t like. Still one of their best, regardless.

Every song on Aja is a good one (same as on a lot of their
    albums).

Yes, his electric sitar solo swings like crazy. I love his stuff in "your gold teeth" also .

    I LOVE this album!!!

I'm an Uber driver with a 6-disc CD changer in my Altima ( kick ass Bose system, factory...)
Disc space #4 is always for Steely Dan, and 'Countdown' gets the most play!

I have all their albums, but they are a band that I would like to make my own Greatest Hits compilation which would really be just cutting out the 1-2 tracks on most albums that I don’t really enjoy.

I voted Aja, but Katie Lied and Countdown to Ecstasy get a lot of play at Chez Supergenius.

This is like asking "which one of your children is your favorite?" :)

If you make me...and you have...Aja for the multitude of stated reasons. But I love so many aspects of the others. There's not a back track on Gaucho. The last track "Third World Man"...god I love that song. Again LC's melodic playing is to die for. It's the only track on that album he's on.

Aja is the only SD album that I like all of, and even then a couple of the songs are nice listens but not amazing.
I like bits and pieces of all SD albums except Everything Must Go, the compression and drums by Mattel make that one one that I never pull out and listen to.
But Aja was the album where it all came together as far as great production that used the technology creatively and had good songs.
I like a lot of the songs on their other albums, there are more songs on them that I like than that I don't care for. It is one of these bands that I have a few comps put together of.

I love it all but I've been recently digging the unreleased stuff that's floating around youtube of late.

Denny Dias is getting a lot of praise in this thread, here is a recent video of him
playing (he layed low for a long time).

The Aja album was my very first real musical purchase ever, outside of a few 45s. I remember how excited I was to bring it home! Still absolutely love that album to this day. Currently on my third copy on vinyl.

I love them all! I can't get enough.

Bummed that Walter died before they could make another. I hope Donald makes another soon.

I voted for Gaucho. It is, imo, the first Steely Dan album with their fully formed modern jazz no rock sound...

I like their entire catalog, but I keep going back to Pretzel Logic.
