I need to pick up a case for my new Bad Cat Black Cat 30R. I want something durable and tough that will really protect my baby, but it doesn't have to be ATA approved. Mainly just using it for gigs in Southern California so it rides in the back of my Tahoe.

Weight is a concern, I don't want some 150 lb. beast.

Also, I'd prefer to lean towards something in the low/middle price range, since it doesn't need to survive a drop from 30,000 feet, just protect my amp from bumps and scrapes.

    Thanks TGP'ers!

    Check out wwww.cabbagecases.com

I've bought a few cases from them and they are very well made, light, and durable. They aren't too expensive either.

Very nice people to work with as well.

Yeah I talked to them. Got a quote for $400. I can get an XCases ATA beast for $350, so a lighter case from GOMC isn't much of a deal.

Just ordered a head case for an orange DT from Rudy at Safecase. They do a lot of business at eBay. Check out their site and give 'em a call. Nice guy, they seem to be on the ball: SAFECASE LINK

^this. I just ordered a head case ad 112 cab case for an incoming amp...both shipped for less than 500. Well built. Lifetime warranty. And they were ~$50 cheaper than xcase.

I'll check out Safecases. Looks identical to XCases on eBay. Hopefully the Cabbage guys answer a phone call too. Thanks everyone, much appreciated!!

Well, I didn't find a "lite flight" case for a price that made any sense. But I did go with SafeCase. It's identical (they must have the same source) to XCases. I had an XCases model with my old AC30 and it was built beautifully. Got it for about $280 (shipped), which is a pretty solid deal considering it's an ATA case with recessed latches, 4" locking casters, etc...

Congrats. My DT head case is due to arrive today (their 10-12 day turnaround claim turned out to be somewhat of an underestimation). I'll weigh in with my verdict later. I kind of had to stay on their case (bad pun, fully intended) for updates. If you have questions or concerns, contact Jenny or Rudy thru sales@safecases.com or the contact email on their website.
