I recently grabbed a Modded DS-1, has a Black-Eye mod and sound pretty amazing to me. Thinking about one of the CMATMODS for a Tri-Gain mods, anyone have a favorite modded DS-1 for a thick chunky metal tone?

Despite having been an Allums DS-1 fan once upon a time, I say don't bother with his DS-1 mod. It's weak. Get the Indyguitar book and do it yourself.

I started with the Allums DS-1 mod but eventually did the Keely mods (with some variation) myself and am quite happy with mine.

Try the Keely mod found on-line and\or the Erik Hansen mod (mine is a hybrid of the two)

I like the Allums Tri-gain but I also changed the bias on the first transistor to smooth it out a little.

    Works for me!
