Who is your favorite Prince guitarist and band?

I have to go with the Revolution and Wendy Melvoin.

    Dez Dickerson is runner-up.

    Who are your favorites?

Blonde was just there for lesbian action -- seemed to play nothing:

    ?????

    The blond is Jill Jones.

She is a singer, she was his girlfriend for a while, but was not in the Revolution.

Oh yeah there are a few vocal lines -- and a lot of pelvic rotation. Killer hook for the male viewer.

wendy is such a tasteful player. i liked her immediately upon hearing her. when i saw the video for "kiss" the first time, i remember thinking "wow! she can play, AND she's hot!"
what more could one want in a woman? it was for me, when i was 21.

Kat Dyson from the NPG, along with Rhonda Smith, if you count bass. Purely because they's buds.

Dez melted my face at a tent party back in the 80s.... or at least something did.

I don't think Prince has ever had a mediocre musician play with him, so it's really just a matter of taste. I mean, Maceo would drop whatever he was doing to play with Prince. Freaking Maceo Parker. To me, that's all anyone needs to know about His Badness.

Donna Grantis (fellow Canadian) is pretty great. Prince may have wanted "the look" but he definitely wanted talent.

The outro solo to this ditty, even in the era of hair metal, remains one of my all time favorites. JJ was a riff master. Great song but if you're in a rush, push that mouse to 3:35

Dez Dickerson had a single called "The Beat" back in the early 80s that was the theme song of a local Twin Cities tv show for a few years.

Prince had tons of great players in his bands. He really wanted people who could play.
