Hey guys! I have a Bogner Shiva (EL-34), and a matching 2x12. I just purchased a matching 4x12 with 2 Vintage 30's and 2 G12T-75s in the X pattern (basically the Uberkab speaker setup inside a normal Bogner cab). More than likely I'm going to take the G12T's out to replace with something a bit more my style...not really into the fizzy, scooped mids.

I wanted to see if some of my fellow forum-ites had success with any other speakers with their Bogners besides the Vintage 30's. I'd love to create a huge sounding 4x12 that has a lush, 3-D sound to it. Any suggestions? I was thinking G12H30's, Man O' Wars, Greenbacks, etc.

    Thanks!

i was thinking G12H30s would be nice and big sounding without the scooped mids. What scumbacks are you referring to?

I do like vintage 30's, but like to mix them with other speakers to offset their strong high mids.
However, Bogner amps seem to be deficient in high mids, and find that all vintage 30's work best.
My second choice with Bogners is a mix of vintage 30's and G12H30's, that combo will give you extended highs and lows as well as liven up the tone.

Have you considered a Classic Lead 80 with the Vintage 30? I was talking to the guy at Celestion and he said if you mix the V 30 with the GH1230 or greenback, your overall handling watts goes down to 65 watts. I suppose with a 4x12 it would be twice that though...so I would recommend the Greenback, the GH1230, or the classic lead 80! Can't go wrong!

Very close to what I have. Shiva into Classic lead 80 and V-30 in a Avatar Closed back cab. I rear loaded the speakers. I'm really liking the sound of this combo. Very smooth to my ears. I didn't like this same speaker combo in a front loaded boogie with the closed bottom open top config.

I'm curious Kselbee is your cabinet open or closed back? I have not yet tried mine open as I'm diggin it so much closed right now.

I used a G12H30 and a Greenie and it was a great combo with the Shiva.

Mine's closed. I've plugged my Shiva into an Avatar with V30s but didn't like it as much. So far, this is the best combo I've heard with the Shiva (I've also played the 1X12 Shiva and I like this better).
