I would have thought the military battle helmet and sombrero would have caught on by now. Definitely the Indian headdress would be a little too risqué.

I wear a bandana under an Open Road style hat. The bandana helps keep sweat out of my eyes and the turned down brim of the hat helps keep the bright stage lights out of my eyes.

Same here. I'm really not a hat guy.

That said, I don't have anything against them and I think it's a matter of fitting your style and the genre. For example, I play a lot of Celtic music and a lot of guys wear a Tam. Which works really well for the most part (thought I don't wear them). There are some nice cowboy hats that work well if you're doing country.

I wear a ballcap just about all the time, but never* on stage.

I have a good head of hair. It may not always be that way.
