Favorite VH tune.....the Hagar years

    Like most VH fans I prefer the Roth years but I still feel there are still quite a few good tunes during the Sammy years as well. I know its tough to pick a favorite but If I had to pick one I'd have go with Summer Nights or Cabo Wabo. See I can't even keep it to one.

    I vastly prefer the Roth era as well, but I love the songs "Finish What Ya Started" and "Feels So Good" from "OU812." The latter is just a straight pop song, but it's a good one with a hella catchy chorus. "Finish..." is a cool grooving tune. These get dissed because they're not heavy or very rocking, but in my estimation represent the best of the Hagar-era songwriting. Even the lyrics avoid serious cringing and have some genuine glimmers of wit (compare "Poundcake," which sounds great except when you notice the ham-fisted lyrics).

    The F.U.C.K album is by far my favorite Van Hagar album!

    As for favorite tune, probably Pleasure Dome. Another Van Hagar one I love (off Balance) is Feelin'.

    I enjoy most of them. These days I'm really digging Summer Nights because I was lucky enough to pick up a Steinberger with a Trans Trem. Such a fun guitar!!!!
