I'm trying to get a scope on all the great old analog delays out there…

So far I have a Boss Dm-2 and a DODD Fx90 which I LOVE. I would like to find more similar units…if not, I'll probably double up on the DM-2, but would like to find a different, less expensive flavor.

Newer stuff like the Carbon Copy has some cool sounds, but mine doesn't really sound full and warm, turn it high enough and it oscillates out, missing that warm big body.

    Suggestions Welcomed!

    Thanks

The problem with truly vintage delays is that they AREN'T cheap. I mean you can find Arion and Ibanez and other stuff from the 90s that's pretty cool, but it won't be better than your DM-2. Some of the modern stuff is cool and cheap but if you want vintage and different flavors I'd suggest a DMM and an Ibanez AD9.

Check out the Duncan Vapor Trail. I like it better than the CC

For older units I like the MXR green box or the yamaha AD10 but expect to pay upwards of $200

Ibanez AD-80 is awesome. it requires 18v, so you get a ton of headroom.

Yup... And 9V is what gives the DM-2 with Matsushita MN3005 it's distorted repeats.

I have an Ibanez AD-99 that has a MN3205 chip in it. Sounds exactly like a DM-2 with the same chip (at least the one I compared it with, that is). Which always leaves me wondering why they are not more popular.

Always liked the DOD FX90 and FX96. I also like those big-box, green MXR analog delays.
