    Are PHENOMENAL!!

I have now settled into a 50s Strat and Tele.
I searched and found a 6 lb10 ounce tele and 7lb 1 ounce Strat. Along with the 52 US vintage tele I just sold, these are my favorite necks of any guitars I have owned. Thats a LOT of guitars. They both ring like a bell acoustically, and sound amazing plugged in, dead stock. Because I have been through pups a million times, I know exactly what I like, I have alread put them in the Tele, and the Strat set will be here tomorrow. (Fralin blues specials in necks and strat middle, and high outputs in both bridges. To my ear and for my style, these guitars are on par with any vintage or CS guitar you will find. $1650 brand new. Absolutely AMAZING guitars. Search, find a fairly light one, done. Absolute world class guitars for WELL under 2k. Fender got it right with the US vintage guitars, and these.
    I am amazed.

I saw that MF had a few of these for around $1,500, looks like a good buy.

Tag, I played an AO Strat and I liked it except the back of the neck was sticky, and for me that was a deal breaker. How's the finish on your AO necks?

Yep. Lasts about 1 month then stops. Smooth as glass after that. Shows its real nitro! You can smell it and sneeze your brains out for a while like I do with every new nitro guitar!

I recently tried a CAR '60s Strat. STUNNING guitar! Fender REALLY got these right, 9.5 radius and all IMO!

I like everything about the Strat except for the vintage bridge string spacing: E strings are too close to the edge of the board.

Picked up an AO Jazzmaster in Ocean Turquoise. It’s absolutely perfect.

Why would someone buy an American standard over one of these?? I dont get it at all. Are they a LOT cheaper?? These are as good as it gets imo for around 1600, maybe less!!!

Congratulations Tag...they look like nice guitfiddles!

The last 4 Fender's I purchased were Mexican. It seems like every time I run the racks, the MIM's speak to me with a more woody tone that I don't hear in the USA models. Funny how we hear this stuff. I lost track of the number of Fender's I've had in my paws over the last 50 years so, like you Tag, I know what I like by now. The last 2 MIM's I bought were maple neck Tele's and they sounded perfect (to me) and needed nothing to make them sound or play "right".

But I have one more MIM Strat I want to kick the tires for more of a 50's vibe...couldn't find any locally and it should arrive tomorrow. I favored rosewood fretboards on my Strats for all these years but I think my maple board Tele's are now telling me to try a maple board Strat again...so we'll see how it goes.

Make a joyful noise...I sure try:)!!

Yup, that was a good one...but wasn't quite what I was seeking. So one last shot at a maple fretboard Strat. My MIM maple board Tele's have been getting most of the play time lately...so maybe I'm going through a male version of "change of life";).

I played one of the RW strat ones on a trip and thought it was pretty good (same with the AVRI guitars, tho), but every single one of the 3 they had in that I looked at had a really hideous fingerboard.

I dont personally feel these guitars are any better or worse than the AVRI but YMMV.

Not sure where you are getting for 1600$. Almoat all retailers all price the 60s Strat at $1900 and 50s Tele at $1750

And that's before any taxes. In Canada it would cost 1900$ X 1.10 =2090$

    And that's all in usd

    Hideous in what way??
    :dunno

Yes, they are actually no *better* than the AVRI series unless you want a flatter neck and slightly taller frets. The AVRIs were/are incredible guitars!!!
