Wondering if the pickups in a avri 59 or 65 would be the same as the corresponding pure vintage pickups?

While some modern Fender pickup recreations don't sound bad...to my ears, a good example vintage Strat just sounds different than their modern recreations. Better or worse though would be very subjective.

Yes. I don't know if they sell all the AVRI versions separate in retail packaging, but the ones they do sell as "Pure Vintage" are the same ones used in the respective reissue guitars/basses.

If that was the question, that is!

Ya sorry if my question was not clear. I've seen people talking on here about the pure vintage line of fender picks up (56,59,65) and wondering if they see the same pickups in th avri guitars?

Here's the pure vintage 65.

Here's the avri 65 strat.
Under specs you'll find the pickups named "American vintage '65 gray bottom single coil strat"

If they are the same pickup that is great, just confusing having two different names.
But if they are different.. what is the difference?

"Pure Vintage" is their branding for their 'high-end' parts, not really a description of anything. Although I heard from Darren Riley that they may be dropping that naming next year.

So if you call up the BOM for a '59 AVRI Strat, for example, you'll find that the pickups are part number ABC, and you might be able to order them that way from a Fender parts center. Or, you can buy the set in retail "Pure Vintage" packaging under part number XYZ. But the product inside is the same.

Yes, "Pure Vintage" Pickups are the same as the ones in the AVRI guitars. I had the same question a while ago about a Tele partscaster I was building, and called Fender and they confirmed that they're indeed the same.
