Small portable and looks cool. Wife approved to leave in the living room and she don't like my stuff in the living room.. Mine has 2 guitar chords and a tube screamer stuck in the back waiting for a jam. She often makes it to the Front and back porch.

Champ 600's have 2 inputs. I plug my I-Pod into the 2nd input to jam along with Guitar Backing track mp3's that I download from here

Speaker needs to be broken in so give it time.

They are great, and you can usually score one on the emporium for less than $150 if you are patient. One or two pops up every week or so.

Great little amp. I had a valve jr. combo and the champ600. No contest, the valve jr. went on craigslist.

I just got one. Very cool, but really quiet. Which is great for a practice amp of course. But I was surprised that, at 5 watts, it was that quiet. I may try some different tubes from my tube stash and the Weber upgrade to sweeten up the tone.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'm really happy with it. Will be great for late night noodling in my office.

Love mine, great for practice obviously but a great recording amp as well.
I think it sounds best from around half to three quarters volume.

I have one and think it produces and very sweet, clean sound. Of course, it is not loud at all. I find it sounds best turned about 2/3 of the way up. I gig with mine regularly, sometimes mic'd. I think the original speaker sounds great especially after it is broken in. I have owned a VCXD, SCXD, Blues Deluxe, Pro Junior, Blues Junior (2 of these), and think the Champion 600 produces more musical cleans than any of them.

I played a used, but in mint condition, one last night and it was $139. I also plugged into an epi Valve jr. that was sitting right next to it, and the champ was much nicer to my ears. ymmv.

I am surprised at the comments that it is not very loud. I find my '66 Fender Champ to be pretty darn loud for 6 watts. Maybe its the inefficient stock speaker.

Love mine. When I A/B it with my full size amp it doesn't hang but by itself it sounds very sweet. I agree with alot with what was already said. I keep mine in the living room and wife doesn't mind the look, space, or even the volume when she's iin the room. Changing the preamp tube gives you alot of tonal differences. It sounded sooo awesome with a NOS RCA 7025. I took it out though b/c couldn't justify leaving such a valuable nos tube in there and b/c it already sounds pretty good with current production tubes. What I find is instead of practicing unplugged when I'm hanging out in the living room, now I get to play with an amp. I also have to agree that there's a big difference in sound after he speaker breaks in. I was I initially contemplating a speaker uprade but now I'm pretty satisfied. For those that put in a Weber, which model? Did it fit easily? And how much did it change the tone and volume?

It's not nearly as loud as the old champs. I've had both and the Champion 600 sounds nicer to me but isn't nearly as loud.
