does anyone else have one? I bought this new in 85'. I haven't played it in over 20 years but I remember the neck was pretty nice. I should slap a EMG in there get it back out again. The other was my squire II from the late 80s.

I have no reason to buy one, but would love to have one. I think they look cool, but have the fender-scale-with-humbucker covered and a Katana isn't going to be better than anything I already have.

From the same era, I used to have a Performer, and wish I still had it.

That looks like a Squire Katana. The Fender Katana had a set neck, two pickups, different bridge. Much rarer.

Holy crap... I've never seen nor heard of this Fender guitar before. That's nuts.

It appear in 1985. Someone at Fender decided they should have a pointy guitar to compete with the weird body shapes other companies were making at the time. Dan Smith designed the shape. Supposedly he was tinkering with shapes on some sort of computer art program, and decided that it didn't look "anymore stupid" than anyone else's design.

    I used to have one.

Bought it in a pawn shop in Myrtle Beach while on vacation.
