I could see this being the next evolution of modeling guitars. When the proccesors get small and fast enough we could have a full guitar/amp/effect modeling in our axes. Why stop there? How about a Pro-Tools rig.

The touchscreen on the Intel/Fender had me wondering if any tech savvy guitarists out there have already embedded/affixed a wifi enabled PDA to their guitar or strap and rigged the touch screen to control their computer based rigs.

It all sounds pretty cool, but I for one can wait a little longer for my guitar to catch a virus;) :p

I love computers, I've got servers, desktops, laptops, WiFi, and PDAs. I love em, they pay the bills, they bought my house, my car, and most of my gear. I've even got my gear and most of my computers in the same room......but that's as close as they get to one another.

Sometimes when I walk in the room the computers are glaring over the amps snickering amongst themselves. They know I play favorites...

I can just see the for sale ads now for used ones in twenty years. "Very little buckle rash on touchscreen"

    Ladies and gentlemen,

This comes from the same guitar company that give signature models to whomever wants one these days. I rest my case.

    YMMV,
