No, I don’t still have it. I traded it for a bass
I know what they are, but I want locking tuners like Sperzels or Hipshot etc.
Who makes a tuner that is a direct replacement?
Nostalgic for sure. Personally I'd rather have a Chavelle or Jackson.
I'm liking that purple hardtail HH one. What's the price?
I still feel bad about removing the Razberry finish from mine but I had a guy that was going to paint it Metallic Deep Purple. He dropped out and it became flat black Rustoleum with extra drips because I was annoyed. Also put Tom Anderson HSH in it and a real Floyd but the neck is as nice as you can find especially now that it is sanded smooth and tung oiled. Smoking monster of destruction that you could use to play Jazz.
I had a 70s Fender Lead 2 with 2 single coils that I bought at a pawn shop for $75, w gigbag. It had a great neck , played it for a while, flipped it and made some $, haven't seen one since, that was over 20 years ago.
The purple one looks cool but more $ than I'd spend probably, since there are SO many other Strat type dual humbucker guitars around, and good ones too!
Body and neck are unique aren't they?
Memo was late 2017. Was it around November 14th, about 1435 UTC? ... Yes, I think it was.
I just took a look and realized that the HM strat does seem to have a unique body shape. I remembered it having a standard strat body, but I guess my memory was incorrect.
also has a 24 fret 25" scale neck. the only parts it shares w other Fenders are fretwire, pickups and hardware
The originals have oddball specs and weren't really standard Fender by a long shot
Can't remember, was the original also with a 17" radius? If so, how are they setting up the Floyd in order to match that?
Really cool guitars, I had two, but sold them both. Damn Kahler Spyder.
I'd imagine they'd do another run or two if it sells out THAT fast. Fender is no dummy.
The turquoise one looks awesome! I kinda wish it had some sort of pickguard though since I'm not too much into guitars without one.
I love the idea of an HM Strat reissue, but I wonder whether this is a deliberate or accidental kill of the Charvel super Strat line...
Hopefully i have a line on getting a turquoise/rosewood one ordered, and if I’m lucky, also a pink/maple.
I think they are different enough that it won’t do much to the Charvels at all. This is very much a nostalgia throwback for the folks that remember these from the 80’s but couldn’t get one then for whatever reason.
Hipshot with the UMP mount plates
Did the original HM feature that heel sculpting? Looks funny.
