As bright as a twin? or warmer and spankier?
Would appreciate any info!!
Thats a tough question, i think its somewhat unique. Its sparkly like a fender, but it breaks up too early so not like a twin. Its got more thickness than most fender cleans as well. I really really like the cleans on the prosonic, but i cant think what they compare to most. Im mostly a marshall guy though so I havent played enough fenders to know what to compare it to most.
i just know i want mine back!
Yeah, while they get some hating around here, they are great.
However, I think it's just a pretty par for the course fender clean with less picky highs, and with earlier breakup.
The dirty channel is killer too.
Killer amps. I had two for awhile. Still own one. I believe they can be had used for around $500.
What those guys said.
I just got on a few weeks back, sleeper amps man.
Not nearly the headroom of a Twin, well unless your talking tweed twin maybe.
IF oyu dig the regualr Fedner cleans, then you'd be happy with this one's clean, prehaps a wee thicker. But the gain channel is a monster, very sueable.
I had a seafoam green one b4 and sold it because i was moving to a different country and couldn't take it with me, i want another one.
if someone has a Combo and wants to let it go, please contact me,
I owned a Prosonic for a couple of years and loved the clean channel - reminded me of a Bassman....
I just picked one up. I like the clean channel, but I don't love it. I think it needs a bright switch. It just isn't quite as sparkly and spanky as a nice BF Fender. It's not a dark amp, but it's darker than many Fenders. The tube reverb is very nice, though.
As for the drive channel, well... it drives... A LOT... and very well, too!
That's great guys, just what i wanted to hear! I was hoping more like a bassman or like a twin but a bit thicker etc. My only concern is the headroom on the clean channel?
LIke can i use this for a fairly loud blues band gig and still cut through with out the clean channel breaking(much or at all)?
I had one.
I loved it.
But, the only problem is my band drowned it out.
My other guitarist had a Marshall JCM900.
I could never get a good clean on it without it breaking up for it to be loud enough in band situations.
That and the shared eq bugged me as well.
If they made this a true two channel an 50 watts I'd snag it up.
I tried the SuperSonic and I was just very underwhelmed.
I didn't like it at all.
But I loved the sound when I played by myself
I think you can fix the breakup on the clean channel with very deliberate tube choice. If you put a lower gain preamp tube in there you should be fine. If you pick a run of the mill 12ax7 in there it will break up early.
So both the head and the combo are 60 watts hey? I don't need to play extremely loud but the headroom thing does worry me a little..
The shared eq doesn't bother me as I don't think i'll use the dirty channel. I reall need a combo at the moment (got a few heads) but i can get a good deal on the head so might just go for it...
so does the tone change much in 30w class A tube rectified mode compared to 60w solid state rectified mode? Or is it more just a tightness and feel thing?
That's a damn cool looking amp!!
