i am wondering if i can control the on/off for reverb and trem in a vintage fender deluxe reverb by using a Boss FS-5L footswitch. i would get a 1/4 inch femlale to male rca converter and connect that to an instrument cable plugged into the boss footswith. this would allow me to have a longer cable from the amp, and use the LED in the boss footswitch to know if its on or off.

you don't need shielded cable, it carries no signal, just on/off latched current

The FS-5L+normal instrument cable should work if you only need to switch just the reverb. Or just the trem. :)

That's signal on the reverb line.
