    Hello there!

I have been updating another starcaster thread here, about the progress of the online petition supporting the re-issue of the original 70s Fender Starcaster semi-hollow guitar.

I thought it was time the progress of the petition had its own thread here. Is that cool? I hope so.....

A Huge Thankyou to everyone who has shown thier support and signed the petition so far! :)

So while were here, here is the link to the petition, i hope we get some more new signers here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/fender70sstarcaster/

Honestly, I think that Starcaster headstock's are probably the ugliest things that I have ever seen in my life.

Plain perverse. And not in the good "guitar pr0n" kind of way :D
Good luck with the initiative though.

I signed it and would get one in a heartbeat if priced right. I don't see it coming to pass, sadly. Maybe a CIJ would be more likely. With so many companies selling import semi hollows in good numbers, you never know.

If you squint just right, the headstock looks rather like an old lady's shoe, the tuners being the lace eyelets.

But I kinda like 'em, too...

It's not my favorite headstock shape either, but that photo you're using shows it way out of proportion. They're not that big. Clearly the camera was much closer to the headstock than it was to the body.

I would think the prices on these things in the used market would be a good indicator of the potential market for a reissue. One problem, though, is that Fender already has a whole line of crappy products going by the Starcaster name now.

I also just noticed that the barfing smiley actually has some vomit apparently coming out of his nose. Nice touch. I had that happen once, and let me tell you, it was not pleasant.

I like the look of the design, but, doubt they will do it.

The headstock looks like a bell-end (to use the English slang).

I wonder why these didn't use the traditional Fender headstock shape or even a 3x3 shape. The one they used, whether out of proportion in that picture or not, is still really ugly.

While I'm really intrigued by the guitar, I can't say for sure I'd want one until I had a chance to play one.

I don't know, I think that "335 body left in the sun" lopsided shape is uglier. At least they put them together -- otherwise there'd be twice as many monstrosities out there.:D

You either love it or hate it eh? Not so much love for the headstock on this thread, it does resemble a bell end, woman's shoe, shark nose etc...

Personally i love it! It's got character, and loads of mojo! I like that they didn't use the Strat or Tele headstock's, adds to the uniqueness? (is that a word?) And sets it apart even more from the norm. :dude

I reckon if I decided I had to have a Starcaster I would find an old one.

I love everything about the Starcaster. Although I think the chance of Fender reissuing them is slim to none, I'd love to have one.

You want them to reissue a bolt on 335 knock off? Seriously? Let me guess, you like Radiohead?
