Mirror mirror on the wall: Is there any (maybe boutique) amp head that provides both the classic fender and vox clean voicings?

If you can find one. Good luck with that.

You're talking about 2 different tube types. Maybe buy a Twin, and put Yellow Jackets in 2 of the sockets. Then you'd have a cool 6L6/EL-84 hybrid tone, and it wouldn't be as out-of-control loud.

I think he was referring to the module heads. Load it up with a T/D & VX and you still have room for an extra preamp. Wouldn't be 100% true to the originals, though.

better off with 2 heads.... there's likely some happy medium amp, but it won't sound like either amp.

the preamps are voiced differently, but if you look at the frequency response on a graph (using tone stack calculator) you'll see they're not actually all that different

the output stages are totally different and a big part of 'that sound' w/ each amp is the speakers.

The new Egnater Rebel can do 6V6 or EL84 (or a blend of both). Now, it's not as nice as a Twin or an AC30 so please don't think I'm saying you'll 'nail' both of those sounds, but if you want an inexpensive way to get both the Fender and Vox vibe in the same amp then this is a nice option.

The modular stuff is nice too, especially the Egnater MOD series. The much-less-expensive Randall amps do it decently too, just get a Blackface and Top Boost module.

What about DR.Z MAZ 38? In other threads I red that it's very flexible, and can get close to both sounds (it has a cut knob that realy seems capable of changing the sound).

ACtually the new Egnator Tourmaster is totally capable of producing those sounds with just the first two channels (it has four...)

The first channel is hands down ... one of the best Twin sounding channels I've encountered..
The second channel is easily capable of entering Vox territory ...
