Fender Twin Silverface 71' disconnect reverb pan?

I'm thinking of rehousing my Twin to a headshell, and since I don't use reverb anymore, I'd like to do it without the reverb pan. Is it safe to disconnect it and run the amp without it? I read somewhere that if I do this, that I should also remove the 12AT7 tube at the same time.

Can anybody shed some light? I'm paranoid and don't want to do anything that will damage the amp. Any input would be appreciated!

I'm getting ready to put my '77 SuperTwin into a Mojotone-made head shell
and I'll probably just put the reverb tank/bag in there as well; even though
I won't be using the reverb, at all .

I saw that shell, and it looks smaller than I would have thought. I like the way it looks, but I thought that the Dual Showman was a Fender Twin Reverb in head format, and that the reverb pan couldn't be too close to the chassis, and that's why the Dual Showman head is so big....will that shell fit the Twin chassis AND the reverb tank?

Edit: I see Mojotone says the reverb pan will fit. Good to know for my needs, but I'm still curious if it's safe to disconnect and remove the reverb pan...

I have a TopHat Ambassador(sp?) 100 head - the head cab is basically
a Marshall-esque type of cab -- the reverb tank is bolted to the front
plate(inside, of course) and is isolated w/ foam strips . No issues .

The Mojo cab, which isn't as tall as the old Dual Showman 'verb cabs;
that's true, but should work OK, I'm expecting ..

Haven't ordered it yet, but will in a couple of days .

Oh: they say on the site that it fits, fine !
