I was surfing to see about finally picking up a Twin BF reissue and see they've gone up nearly 50% from last year (now on MF for $1500). WTF???

    Wow! 50%? That's a lot.

As with anything, the trend is usually up. Add in imported components and things are going up faster than normal due to the sinking $US. Then add in oil price increases which lead to increased transportation costs.

Not to mention rising copper and steel prices. A perfect storm is brewing right now.

Yup, just get a real one. Your pretty much paying for the exterior look of the amp. They really dont sound the same or have the same feel.

That's closer to a 10% increase, which is quite common, not 50%.

    +1

It's true with all the Fender reissues IMO. They look nice but are not built as well or sound like the real deal. With a little patience and you can find reasonably priced SF Fenders and sometimes BF ones that once given a good maintenance go over sound great and are very realiable. I gig all the time with BF and SF Fenders.

One of my first amps ever was a '77/'78 Twin with the Orange Label JBLs...real work horse, wish I still had it.
