Mod. I dig it, but I'm not fashionable enough in appearance to wear it.

The one with visible pickups looks a bit like a Telemaster. The one without visible pickups reminds me of a Variax more than I'd like.

Pics for those that don't like leaving the safety of TGP:

    I dunno
I'm not gonna hate on fender, but what's so inovative about that?
Looks like Tele style pickups and bridge on the Butterscotch one.
It's likely a very nice guitar. But I'm not seeing what makes it any better than anything out there now. Just marketing.

Well, who knows if it will actually come to market. Might just be a concept car kind of thing.

The only thing I can say about the innovation idea is at least it's a new model. Fender could make money selling reissues forever without ever having to spend a dime on R&D, so I figure anything new is a bold move.

That said you'd never catch me with the black & chrome one.

I could rock the Modern (black/chrome one), but they'd have to fix the headstock. A natural CBS-style just doesn't work at all...

That struck me right away too. The headstock just doesn't fit that body design. I expected to see something along the lines of the Swinger headstock and then painted black. :)

I like the natural one a lot.

I like 'em. The black and chrome one looks very cool to me. Almost retro, yet futuristic. Call me crazy.

I also like the look of the trem on that guitar. Looks kinda like the hipshot version, or like it has some of the PRS features like the raised lip around the saddles.

I'd buy one if the price is reasonable. Fender seems to have more reasonable prices than other manufacturers.

What might be neat on the black and chrome one would be to have a chromed layer over the wood headstock with 'Fender' in relief so the wood peeks through and spells it out but most of what you see is chrome. Kinda futur-retro-istic.

Sorta exactly what the 'F' on the butterscotch one is like, but for the whole logo.

The one with the tele bridge looks cool, the other one not so much. Needs a Starcaster headstock.

Needs a painted peg face to match the more modern vibe. I also don't like that you can't swap pickups. But I'm not against it entirely.

I wonder if these will end up in the same forgotten annals of Fender lore like the 'Performer'?

I like it, a lot. It's pretty conservative compared to other things on the market and as a shape isn't really much further out there than a Strat. I dig it.

Need to trim up the lower bout a bit to reduce the size but keeping the same look

    The headstock needs work.

    Reminds of John Baklunds work
