I got an mindblowing idea today
I'm gonna make a thread about overdrives on TGP

fill in the type of OD you would put in this empty slot on my overdrive chain/pedalboard

    [using a quartermaster looper]

loop 1: lead boost. (mxr custom comp->speaker cranker aka electra circuit)
loop 2: always on lovepedal blackface deluxe set real clean. just to "chewy it up"
now the overdrives... (flip flop loops)
    loop 3: deltalab ts-9 set: 0 gain, 10 volume, tone ~3
loop 4: colorsound power boost clone 18v with master volume, "set to gilmour" just a little gain, gain set to 10 o'clock
???????????? What do you want to put here?????????
    loop 5:
    klon #1 RYRA gain 10 o'clock
loop 6: klon #2 JHS soul food gain 1 o'clock, switch middle position, slightly louder than loop 5

honestly where it goes in the overdrive order doesn't matter at all, only one overdrive is on at a time.

my guitars are a casino and a schecter 335.
my amp is a '66 ampeg reverberocket 2 with an alnico. it sounds pretty awesome, and that sound is pretty '66.

here are some of the things i dig for overdrives lately:
fender sounds. all of them. tweed, brown, black
tchula's. although it's an electra circuit, and might not jive with my lead boost, but i can just.. not use the lead boost with the tchula on.

    things i'm not into
    bluesbreaker style pedals
    dumble style
i just had an eternity burst pcb and i hated it with my rig
had an eqd gray channel (dod 250 / mxr dist+) and it was cool but not my style, too saturated sounding or something. probably just not my style.
dont need a fuzz here, i have lots of fuzz, and fuzz doesnt play with this pedal chain with the stuff i have in front.

    bonus question
effectrode blackbird or kingsley squire/maiden BF instead of the lovepedal blackface deluxe?
    would that be cool?
    would it be a waste?
would it be trying to fix what isn't broken?
would it be stupid because i would barely have it turned up?
would it be moved to the end of the chain instead?

I think you already have too many drives, but since you ask I'd put a jrockett melody, nice mid gain pedal with presence, I feel you have a lot of transparent / low gain sounds in there.

You’ve got the Blackface thing covered, get yourself something Tweedish. Something that can get kinda nasty without being over compressed or saturated.

Greer Tomahawk/Ghetto Stomp, CTC Falcon, LP Les Luis, CB Formula 55/5F6, Menatone Dirty Blonde.... It all depends on what you want the end result to be and what your preferences are.

Left of center suggestion: Strymon Deco.

The tape saturation sound could be a nice alternative to what you already have, and then you get bonus slapback/chorus/flanger.

    My thoughts too.

    Boost, drive, fuzz. Done.

I flip between driven Tweed and BF almost exclusively, bc the difference between the punch of Tweed vs the fine grain of BF is headturning

What's that one thing? Trashy Blonde? Tweed tone stack + alot of drive and a boost in one box

I didn't like it but I didn't need it either. It has a convincing Fender sound though

I'd say go with another Tube Screamer. I mean, one TS is really cool, so another TS must be even cooler.

I have been looking at Tube Drivers a lot lately.
Also considering the Tube King for a discount
Seems like it might be a great fit on my board with the other stuff I have going on.

Thanks everyone for the multitude of suggestions, I will begin the researching tonight...

I have a separate fuzz chain that starts with nothing and ends with a vintage spec non master volume colorsound power boost. Lotta fuzz face going on. It's my favorite circuit. But none of my fuzzes really work in this overdrive chain detailed in the OP, regardless of their respective input impedance

Behringer makes a cool Butler Tube Driver type.

I mainly use a JHS Double Barrel (TS808 type and Bluesbreaker) and a Danelectro 'Timmy type' but i stack OD pedals as well....REALLY struggling with fuzz types as well....i have 335 types and a 67 Ampeg Gemini II which are killer together...love old Ampegs!
