here is an old thread I posted gassing for a komet 60

For ages I have wanted one of these, but they are soooo rare in the UK I knew I'd be taking a risk. However I just couldn't pass up on a good offer recently and I have a nice komet 60 on its way to me now.

It is black with green v model, and I am so looking forward to cranking it at my studio. I have the choice of these cabs to test it through (all marshall 4x12s)

    - 4 x pre rola G12-H30s
    - 4 x 70s G12-m25s 75hz
    - 4 x 50s G12-m25s 55hz
    - 4 x reissue G12-m20 heritage
    - 2 x alnico blues, 2 x g12-m25s
    - 2 x v30s, 2 x blackback greenbacks

Should be very good fun! Please tell me about your Komets to help me pass the time :) :)

I am just in the process of finishing work on my commercial studio and my gear is going to be stored there. I'll try & get a nice full rig photo :)

In that other thread, you were on the fence between a Constellation and 60.

    What swayed you?

oh definitately! I gave up on the cover band gig situation about a year ago to start a family, but now I am ready to rock again! I'm hoping to rev an originals band back to life and get the komet out on the road :)

    not sure really tbh
I think I liked the fact that the 60 had more conventional controls that I'd be happier with. Of course I might dig it so much and end up getting a connie too :)

In truth, the deal offered for the 60 seemed pretty good and came at the right time so I went for it.

    Congrats, Big Hair!

I know how you're feeling... I just pulled the trigger on a Fuchs ODS30SLX, had to choose between a Komet and the Fuchs and figured the Komet would have to wait. Can't wait to hear clips!

    Many congrats Big Hair.

When you are in the UK and have GAS for something rare in the US you have to be real patient. Do let us know how it all works out.

well this is exactly the issue. You just don't see Komets in the UK at all - and that is a shame.

Can't wait to fire her up :)

All of my amps will also be available at my studio when it finally opens soon. I hope that a few nice amps (all will be insured!!!) might lure some interesting bands in to record there! I'm also hosting an ampfest on Oct 7th so anyone is welcome
