    Hi,

I have always been very interested in the players who play chord-melody style but never taken my time to really look into it. Now when I found this jazz sound in my modelling software I finally mustered the energy to try a tune.

This is not my tune as I figured it would be hard enough to arrange a tune that was already there so I opened my old Real Book and decided to have a go at "Someday My Prince Will Come". A waltz no less! Even though labeled as a chord melody piece I couldn't resist taking a solo which was plain old amateur cheating single string.

The bass is Broomstick bass and the drums are from Sample Tank 2.

    Hope you enjoy it!

That was a very pretty arrangement and some interesting musical ideas in your solo...I really dug it, keep up the fine work!

    Hi,

Frank - Thanks for listening and the nice words.

Randy - Thanks to you too. Broomstick Bass is a very good and versatile virtual instrument covering bass instruments. That's my favourite when I need a double bass.

    Well done Mats :)

Cool stuff with the Broomstick, I never got the hang of it and continued with Trilogy.

    Hi Sofus,

    Thanks for listening.

I haven't been able to afford Trilogy yet but a friend of mine has it and I really like what he's doing with it. Broomstick Bass is good for a few things. The double bass is my favourite and I often use the picked, muted P-Bass for rock tracks when I don't have time for getting my own bass out.

    Great work Mats!

Nice to hear you working this style. Your chord work was really nice. Great selection of voicings. :) I enjoyed the solo too.

    Hi Jim,

You, dear Sir, are a prince. Thanks for the encouragement.
This will probably lead to more of this ilk.

    Cheers,
