Drips with mid range. For a darker tone I like this speaker clip more than the Eminance (sp?) clips. Very well defined indeed.

Hey Scott, I have had that clip running in repeat mode since last night. I just sit here with a stupid grin..... :D

Actually I LOVE the EVM's they really sound nice. I just hope that I don't have to sell my kids to afford one (on second thought....).

    Great playing BTW...

Very nice Scott!! I like that tone a lot. I bought a MK3 Boogie (when you ordered and waited for them to build it) in the early 80's that came with an EVM12L. This sounds to me very much how I remember that speaker. :)

scott - the clip sounds great. Love the playing and tone. Have you heard any status of Emi's EV clone they're working on?

Awesome tone, Scott. Rich and fat, yet smooth as glass. There's also a clarity which your I haven't really noticed in your other clips. I need to go back and compare with the last 2 clips.

OK, I'll be the bad guy here. At first listen, I really liked it. BUT . . when I compared it to this other clip http://www.scottlernermusic.com/glas/magmaNoHRM002OD1.MP3 (not sure this link is working), I liked this one better - although the EVM12L does give you the mids.
Maybe you just need to work with it and dial in the tone better, as you said.

I guess I am in agreement with the last two points-of-view! I really do dig the edgier and more touch-sensitve feel of the former track that fig linked very much. But, after hearing your killer playing, I am pretty distracted from the whole speaker thing anyway. Damn, time to go practice...

Very nice Scott. Sounds great even right out of the box! You make me want to dust off the old EVM12L and try it with a "D" inspired amp. It's been a long time since I've used EV's... Sounds like it may be time to give them a new listen. Wonderful playing by the way.

I have 2 new/old EVM 12L 200 watters loaded in my Boogie metal grill cab., They mix really nice with 2 MC90's.

I think that is a much better match for your style than the darker Eminence stuff. Definitely cuts. Tonally speaking and IMHO, this is the best I've heard the Fuchs' sound, even though I know those EV's are a very heavy speaker, would be my pick to mate with those Dumble inspired tones. The playing, always inspiring!
