For TGP's aficionados of the music of the Middle East...

I'm listening to Kayhan Kalhor's latest release and am entranced so far. Kalhor is a master of the kemancheh (4-string Persian spike fiddle tuned like a viola). This new album features his newest instrument, the "shah kaman", which is has 5 strings, plus sympathetic strings.

Excellent...can't wait for this. I first learned about Kalhor through his duo Ghazal and have grabbed whatever new CDs I happen to run across -- and I am never disappointed.
