Hello fellow gear heads and chasers of tone. About three years ago I got back into playing guitar again after a 20 year hiatus and I've never been happier. Like anything with me I can't do anything half way. So needless to say most of my spare coin goes to supporting my bad case of G.A.S. My wife doesn't completly understand my renewed obsesstion but is completly supportive of anything that makes me this happy.

I'm 53 but still feel like I'm 25 when it comes to playing. My major influences have been Genesis (pre 1975) Steve Hackett, Jeff Beck, Robert Fripp, Bill Nelson (Be-bop Delux), and of course Zeppin, Hendrix, Stones and the rest of the now classic rock biggies.

My current gear consists of Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Roland, Gibson, Fender and Dean.

I really like effects and what they can do to add color to my tone but like all things only in moderation. I'm going to try and upload a couple of pics so as to kind of give you an idea of where I'm coming from.

At any rate, I happy to be here and will have losts of questions (and hopefully contributions) to post.

Thank you Jim. I was directed to this site upon trying to get some Volume Pedal application questions answered. Now that I have found you folks I'll post my questions in the appropriate area. See you there -

Welcome aboard Dusty. You sure have built up a nice collection in just three years. But of course you probably had some of it stashed away for 20 years. I was in the same boat. A lot of gear stashed away for maybe 10 years. Then I got back into it.

Good luck and welcome back with the living.

Well, actually I acquired all of this (and more) during the past three years. The only thing I kept was my '73 Start which I'm happy to say is worth much more thant the $365.00 I paid for it in '73.

    Thaks for the welcom!!!

Well if you must know.....I took the name from Robert Fripp. Back in '77 I saw him with Peter Gabriel during Gabriel's first tour since his departure from Genesis. Peter introduced Robert as "Dusty Rhodes on pedal steel".
For what ever reason I just sort of stuck.

    Thanks for the welcome!!
