I'm looking for some good options for vintage style single coils for a fairly bright strat (maple board, alder body). I'd like to be able to just order or buy them without waiting for the lefty stagger. Any good flat pole single coil options out there?

    Thanks!

Duncan Quarter Pounder? They make 'em in flat and staggered, but they might be a little hot depending on your tastes. Mine is very midsey in the bridge position of my Strat.

Tom Anderson Pickups sound great in my Strat/Tele guitars.

I don't care as much for the humbuckers though.

I have the blackface set on a MIJ strat (basswood body/rosewood board) and love them. How would these sound and a faily bright alder body/maple board strat?

Duncan SSL2 is a flat pole. Great sounding vintage tone for medium $$$.

    Lefty,
I would think the BF Lollars would sound great in that guitar. They are just a little bit hotter than standard Strat pickups as you know. What pickups are in your guitar now? Have you tried some others yet?

Yeah, I've tried several in that guitar - a couple sets of Kinmans, some Bill Lawrences...I might just try the Lollars in this one. They sound killer in the other guitar...
