We're a post-rock indie outfit from Kansas City, and we generally do slower, dreamy rock - but many times we build into quite a roar, such as bands like Explosions in the Sky, Mono, and Mogwai.

    We're called Actors&Actresses
the EP is called We Love Our Enemies

we recorded this EP to 2" tape at Great Western Record Recorders studio, owned by Matt Talbot, who played for Hum.

any feedback on these tracks is appreciated.

Hard for me to offer feedback - I'd want to listen a few more times, and don't have time tonight - but FWIW:

the reason it's hard for me to offer feedback is because I'm aware that there are certain textures, chord progressions, arrangement techniques, etc., that I'm a sucker for, and if a song has them, I'm much less able to evaluate it cause it goes straight for the dopamine centers. And, especially on "I'll Turn You Blue," you were hitting a whole bunch of "I'm prone to like this" buttons. So, you've got that going for ya.

    Very very cool! Great textures.

I think I might have to pick up a copy of your EP.

Started listening to "I'll Turn You Blue," and it's about a minute in and you guys have the tension completely under control. I'm just dying for the big bang.

    It finished. Great stuff.

I listed to I'll turn you Blue, and I think the mix needs to be higher and maybe an instrumental instead of vocal tune? just my opinion.

well, actually - since it's on myspace - the tracks are playing at a limited bitrate - so the actual tracks on the CD are mastered in full 44.1k and are pretty full sounding.

    but thanks for the comments.

thanks - i wish i had tried a few different fuzzes for that last blast, since when we play it live, that section kicks in much louder than it sounds on tape.

but the Zoom Ultra Fuzz did the job admirably (blasting it through an Orange OR80 amp helped a ton too).
    :D :D
