I'm inches away from throwing my iPhone into the trash, here's the deal; I want to disengage iTunes auto play. Every time I plug my phone into my car iTunes plays automatically, every time I make or receive a phone call iTunes plays automaticity.
No matter what I do that has me plugging and unplugging my iPhone into my car, iTunes plays automatically.
How do I turn this effing auto play OFF ??!

With my f-150 it's a choice that is made on the vehicles audio menu not my iphone.

I have a portable bluetooth speaker that causes something similar to happen too. When it pairs with my iPhone, it auto-play occurs. When pairing the phone with other bluetooth speakers I've tried, that does not happen. Therefore I don't think it's the iPhone, it's the bluetooth device. It is annoying.

The blame isn't all on the iPhone. Your car stereo is sending a command to continue playing when the bluetooth connection is made. Our Subaru does the same thing but my Mini didn't auto play.

There are a LOT of posts on the Apple forums as well as other forums discussing the same issue. It doesn't appear to be related to a specific iPhone model or iOS version but some cars auto play and some don't.

The way we get around it, when we start the Subaru we have to unlock the wife's iPhone and stop the music from playing. That fixes it until you stop and restart the car. It really is a pain in the ass especially because the Subaru stereo doesn't have a pause or stop button!

My silverado did the same thing. Really made me loathe the intro of Achilles last stand , which feels like sacrilege! Hah.

My current tundra does not have this issue.

This. There's a Hendrix bootleg cut of Jimi playing a dobro, I loved the rawness of it, now I just want to scream.

Funny to run into this. My iPod in my truck autoplays as well. Now in the winter, it gets so cold that it turns off. When the temperature in the vehicle rises a little, the iPod comes on automatically and the stupid autoplay engages.

I am so sick of hearing the into to AC/DC's "Riff Raff" that I took another song and named it "AAA." Now I'm sick of that song.

As a workaround for those who can't find a setting to turn this off in their respective cars, make a 3-minute silent MP3 and name it AAA.

That way, you have 3 minutes to select a song and you don't have to hear the same one you're sick off every time.

Odd. My 2011 Subaru has Bluetooth and when it hooks up with my iPhone it doesn't do anything besides recognize it's there. I have to manually select the iPhone as a music source the same way I'd select a radio band or a CD.

Mine never had Bluetooth audio streaming (new truck does, no issue) so it was only when connected via USB.

New truck via USB does not Autoplay. So I no longer have the issue. Some vehicles have settings to toggle it off. Others, don't it seems.

That's the joy of Apple products .... they know what you want to do even if you don't want to do that! ... and then they do it anyway and there is no way to stop it. They are your best friend.

No I haven't found a solution! I am however on the edge of madness, listening to the same 4 bars of Jimi on dobro forever, on an on, unable to make it stop.. is this Hell ?

No slight to Jimi implied or intended.
