    Yeah, especially when it's not the Apple product that's doing it.

    I had the same issue with my android phone and Bluetooth in the car. I now hate "#9 Dream" by John Lennon for the same reason. Now it's "Light Mass Prayers" by Porcupine Tree. Not nearly as bad.

    "AAA" was a suggestion based on what some other poster reported as being the first song that plays automatically.

    If yours is a different song every time you plug it in, that's not going to work.

    But if it's always the same song, rename it to the title of that song, but remember that it has to match the exact same characters.

    For instance, if it's "The Beatles - I Am The Walrus," you have to rename the real song with a slightly different name. I'd add a "2" at the end to differentiate between the two files. Then, you rename the silent file to match the original title, all with the proper spaces and whatever other characters were in the names. I'd suggest copy/pasting the name in Notepad just so you know exactly how it was written.

    Good luck.

    Success! The 'AAA' work around, worked! When I plugged my phone in and finally heard nothing but blessed silence I cried like a... well, here's a picture;

    My 2012 Acura does it too. A Simple Game of Genius from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

    Good call on the silent song. I have a Jvc head unit that does autoplay and as far as I know there aren't any settings to change it on mine. I loathe the intro riff to A-Punk by Vampire Weekend.

    Hmmm I have a 2012 Pilot and it only plays the mode I have it set for. If I left the FM radio on last, thats what comes on. I had a 2013 Honda accord for my last work car and it was the same way. Both my wife and I have iphones paired to the radio but it doesn't occur with either of ours. Very strange!

    I've created a song called "AAA Silence" that fixes this problem at least for iPhones (by being 79 minutes of silence that should always be the first song alphabetically on your phone), and I put it on the iTunes Store and on CD Baby. You can just search for "AAA Silence" in the iTunes Store or on CD Baby to get it. Alternately, you can get direct links to buy it and read more about it at aaasilence.com.

    Dude, it's 79 minutes long. That's less than 13c a minute.

    I like the idea. Just made my own.

    I can throw it in Dropbox if anyone wants it.

    I'm so hardcore, I'm skipping silence and putting terrible sounds and when it comes on I'm flexing and screaming BRING IT ON.
    Maybe I should become an uber driver and try this.

    My Jeep does this. The first song on my playlist is "Ace of Spades." I will never not want to listen to "Ace of Spades."
