    Hi,

I've been very busy lately. The family has had some health issues and my work situation has gradually turned to worse so time for composing has been limited.

Now I've finally managed to finish a tune. This is my 1993 ES-335 for all the guitar parts. The bass is a JV-series Squire Jazz Bass.

    Here's the tune:
    All Three

    Here's the backing track:
    All Three Backing Track

I'm looking forward to hearing your takes as well as reading your comments!

    Cheers,

    Mats N

Awesome, Mats! Very slick playing, perfect tone, and killer composition. Wes Montgomery meets Larry Carlton. :)

BTW, I hope that the new year brings you better luck with your job and family. Prayers and best wishes.

    Hi Marin,

Thanks! I spent a lot of time getting the groove right and I'm happy with the backing and less happy with the guitar phrasing and dynamics. I'm looking forward to hearing your take on this!

    Cheers,

    Hi Norm,

Thanks for the kind words. Every time I hear some of your guys play your killer amps I want "that tone". Until I can afford that I'll settle for my Boss GS-10.

Family is better. Lots better, thank you.
The work situation really sucks. Humongous big time.
I'm currently negotiating a payment so I can resign from the company. If I can get enough for the family to eat and not having to sell the house I'll be more than happy to leave the place for ever more.

Then I will have peace of mind and maybe more positive energy for music making.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Hi Marin,

Funny you should say this. Larry and Lee has been heavily played lately.
And yes, it's the Boss GS-10. Since I can't afford a Fuchs and a decent recording room I'll have to make do.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Hi,

Jim, Jeff Marcello and Loren - Thanks for the kind words and concerned wishes for better times. Concering my work situation I have offered to resign if the settlement is right. Thing is that the company has done a few illegal things towards some of us employees so I have no confidence for my employer any more even though I've had some really good times there. So my personal relationship with my immediate boss and the illegal stuff I've been subjected to has made it possible to neogitiate a fair deal financially. Therefore I feel I can leave without putting my family in jeopardy.
Probably on january 1st. I feel scared and elated at the same time. Mostly I think of a lot of things I can do to get other jobs and those thought leaves me feeling good so I'll with my gut decision on this one. I hope I can post here in another year saying I made the right decision.

Sorry for the OT and back to the subject.
Hope you find some time to do a take so I can enjoy them here!

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Hey Mats!

yet another nice track. I dig the backing and your playing and definitely agree with the Larry/Lee references - but you make it your own!

    Keep up the good work,

    Hi Mats -
The beginning reminds me of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone."
    Excellent backing!!!
And excellent playing as well!!! I haven't heard this side of your playing before, Mats - the octaves. Very nice!
I'll take a stab at this one in the next few days.

    Hi Fig,

    Thanks for your kind comments!
The octave thing is a bitch for me. I very rarely do it because I find it difficult. Probably because I don't do it more ofen. :) But also because my 335 is hard to intonate properly so some octaves sound sort of "sour".

Looking foreward to hearing your version.

    Merry Christmas!

    Mats N
