I like the Amp-X-Wing feature for adding additional pedals without the need for a pedalboard. I wish more modelers would do that and ditch the onboard expression pedal.

Holy ****. I knew they were working on an "Amp 1 with fx" unit but this goes way beyond what I expected.

I have high hopes for this because Thomas Blug has already demonstrated how he is able to match many tube amps in tones just by twiddling with the controls on an Amp1 Mercury Edition. I have the Amp 1 ME and it's a seriously great sounding and feeling unit.

Well it has a setting called "American boutique" so who knows, that is usually something in that territory on digital modelers at least. The real question is which Dumble?

I just want to know how they get 100 watts out of a single nanotube ! :)

Seriously, I don't care if it makes me sound like Eric Johnson, I'm not buying until Thomas removes the "marketing tube". That nonsense was over and done in the 90's.

    Bummer... :)
Build an entire rig with an AMP 1 Mercury and remote + FX, now he comes up with this :(

Love the AMP 1 Mercury, very small and great sounds.
Amp 1 inspires me when playing with it's dynamics and feel.

They don't. The nanotube, which should not be mistaken for the Nutube, is there to give you the response and if desired, powertube distortion of a tube amp while the 100W Class D solid-state poweramp makes it loud. It works tremendously well and yes, if you crank it you get powertube distortion similar to how you would get on a regular tube amp. It's not marketing, it is functioning exactly as intended.

You could think of it working similarly to using something like a Fryette Power Station 2 with a tube amp. The tube amp delivers preamp and powertube distortion and the Fryette outputs it at your desired volume level. Replace tube amp with the BluGuitar preamp and powertube and Fryette with the solid-state poweramp and there you have it. At least that's how I understand it working.

And yes, it does get loud if you want. I measured 120 dB @ 1m on the Amp 1 Mercury Edition when fully cranked through a 1x12 with an Eminence Maverick. For reference through the same cab my 45W Bogner Goldfinger 45 SL reached about 117 dB, which is in line with the +3 dB you would get going from a roughly 50W amp to a 100W. No, I did not dare to stand in front of it.

Wow, an analogue Axe FX/Helix, but with ‘dynamic IRs’ and a poweramp built in. Killer concept.

Sounds like a bunch of marketing bs to me. So this thing is an ax8 that doesn't need a power section? Y'all are acting like they just cured cancer.

I wonder when the supply of those tubes runs out. They've been out of production for over 30 years i think. Maybe they're like the rest of the new old stock supply that continues to grow every year somehow.
