Former Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 user needs help

I used Cakewalk for years until my computer died.

My main question is "Is Sonar similar to cakewalk in the way you edit/delete/copy/paste?"

Ive tried reaper but it is driving me nuts trying to just delete a passage

Pretty much.

AFAIK, almost all programs are pretty similar, in regards to editing, except ProTools, which is a pain.

the latest sonar is x2 and it is miles ahead of pa9. imo it beats up pro tools 10 (native) and i have been pro tools user forever. x2 just has a lot of exceptional features other daws seem to lack. most of which is in channel strips, pro channel design and flexible channel strip emulation of many standardized professional consoles.
