Fostex- F8 Repair

I have one that needs fixing, any advice on where I can go?
This is the 1/4 inch model.

I live in Baton Rouge, La, but I could ship it anywhere..

funny...i just had the same post on another board...what is the issue with your recorder??

There is a Yahoo groups for F8 users, on which the owner's and repair manual...id recommend downloading the manuals from that site, then taking it to a tech

The FF and RW don't work, some of the tracks won't arm.
But it really seems like a cool recorder...I just don't know if I want to spend the big bucks to get it up and running..

Do a web search, there are individuals and companies that do restoration & repair. Search: reel to reel recorders, repair & restoration, and there are a few in a couple states that do it and have parts. I have a vintage working Fostex A8, a 1970 JVC 2 track and a Sony w/built in amp & speakers from the 60's
