I think he's a very happy person!
I dont understand why everyone is so uptight. Doesn't everyone already have a modeller of some sort? Arent you using it now? It'll get here. Until then, love the one you're with. LOL
Nothing. Skip the next 180 and then check back in to see if it's shipping yet. That's really all that matters.
And why do you keep monitoring the thread then?
It's really none of your business.
It's the same guilty pleasure for both sides. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
How old is the "don't you have another modeler to play while you are waiting" thingy?
Shanghai to New York City - 34 days
Note also that the Freight times do not take into account further delays which may occur such as:
Getting products to port a few days before sailing for clearance in China. Account for 2-3 days extra
Waiting until the next available vessel departs (there is unlikely to be a departure every day to your port of choice)
Customs clearance in your country (count 3-5 days for safety.)
Typhoons (prayers needed)
My thoughts on the delay
I honestly think it has something to do with the FCbacklog
Most likely both FC and FM3 use similar components
I think it is quite possible they used parts allocated to FM3 to satisfy and speed up the FC backlog
Perhaps they were promised those parts pulled could/ would be replaced within 60 days that were the thought of shipping by August came from
The airshipment my guess is was a very small batch just to test do final QC
In regards to the FC
I remember a few guys in their forum saying
I hope their not using FC parts for the new FM3
I think that might have hit home
Think about it for a moment
A huge bunch of customers that bought your productand cant get a controller
A waitlist for a new product that has not even really been officially released
As CEO what do you do
They wiped out an entire 1 year list stocked the shelves
And sent a bunch to EU
Why announce them to the public and say that invites were going out?
There were 2 major rumors floating around the fractal forum:
1. Something was wrong with the initial shipment either hardware or software related.
2. The unit isn’t actually coming out.
The update from Fractal only discusses rumor #2. No mention of #1, which speaks pretty loudly in my opinion.
Cause i sold my AX8 after it was stated the FM3 would be shipping early Sept. Now i have to use plugins likely until 2020. Didn't wanna unload my AX8 when everyone else was and get much less for it
Yeah that sucks. Especially since the ax8 are actually selling for more than I think they're worth right now.
So much misery over a wish.
I’m sure FAS wants to sell them as much as you want to buy them. Solid.
So many soapboxes. Between this place and their own forum, they should get into that business!
I am not saying your point
Is not valid
But i think the biggest issues come from building overseas
Your really at their mercy
For the guys that don’t go on the fractal forum one thing that is a fact back in the spring a supplier took Fractals order of parts that they bought at $2 a piece and sold them to another vendor
For $50 a piece
Thats brutal and what do you do from the US call the Chinese authorities??
But when things like that happen that obviously causes huge delays
And if the supplier says ill get your order refilled in 30 days is his word really that good ?
Fractal is a small cimpany
When you consider players like Samsung Apple etc
Needing parts ASAP for a launch you are likely to get screwed
Seems like they're pushing the AxeIII and FCs a bit hard right now.
Yeah, that could be the case. But I would think that Fractal would’ve taken the opportunity to address the rumors of issues with the unit, and they chose not to.
Of course, there is also the mysterious shipment that was already on the plane supposedly. The only explanation for that was either issues with those units, or it wasn’t an accurate statement. That announcement came right around the release of the kemper stage and the free helix bag sale. Maybe it was an exaggeration to keep those waiting from jumping ship.
This is utter crap - unless FAS partnered with a dump factory that isn't governed.
1. China and the US are international trade partners governed by international trade laws. There's also mutually agreed upon China/US laws.
2. Everything you read about tariffs is true. It just doesn't in any way, shape, or form impact consumer electronics.
3. The US sells stuff to China. China sells stuff to the US. It's been this way for over 50 years.
4. We're at each other's mercy but not in the way you're trying to imply in regard to why Fractal is having problems with releasing a product..
Just because someone posts it doesn't make it accurate. If it is accurate then it reflects poor planning in both the design and purchasing depts.
at Fractal. The cap shortage was forecast for a very long time. Most companies prepared for it.
Had Fractal paid for the capacitors yet? No? Then quit your whining.
1. Fractal is a small company by choice. If their buying power is weak as a result, it's because they choose to be small.
2. JBL/Harman International Corp. is small compared to Samsung and Apple.
3. Relying on last minute standard parts for a production launch is poor planning on the manufacturers part. It's not an excuse.
Maybe Fractal joined a wait-list for those parts and it just wasn't there turn yet.
Well played sir! Well played.
