Frenzel 5e3 deluxe plus owners...i have a question for you

I just got one off the forum the other day, and it sounds great, but very different depending on the speaker I throw at it. I am curious what speaker you are using, with which input and settings.

I found it really liked my red fang with bass and treble on 6 and mids on 9. Fender input for me.

I also tried it with a weber 12a150, and it couldn't handle the low end well, but the mids were a little better. I'd love to find something that is a combo of the two.

Thanks for your help.

The red fang is popular with 5e3's as is the celestion blue. A scumback m75 65 watt is a popular ceramic speaker that people like with the 5e3. I have a WGS g12c in mine that sounds really good. I'm going to try an emi legend gb128 in it to see if I like that.

I have the older model (one input)
I use a closed back 2x12 with GB12 & 30w Silverbell wired in Parallel for 4ohms
I run it with either EH6ca7's or SED el34's 7025 V1, 5751 V2
Sounds good!

I would like to try the Red Fang, G12H 30 mix though.

Guess I missed the OP in Jan.
I run mine through a Eminence Copperhead in a Stage Craft Gear open back cab. Sounds great and is quite loud.
I've usually run the 6L6s it came with but also have played with 6V6s, all JJs.
The 6V6s give very little headroom.

I ended up getting an eminence canibis Rex, and run 6v6's. It sounds very sweet for me. I can't imagine a better amp at 3 times it's price.

agreed, great sound at a great price
Did you get the loop in yours?
If so, how do you use it? How does the level adjustment work?
