Fret buzz on A string 7th and 12th frets Epiphone Casino

Hi everyone... I recently acquired an epiphone casino and I put my choice of strings on today and went through it. I am getting a buzz on the A string of the 7th and 12th frets only. The neck needed a tiny bit of relief, which I did. I feel like I just keep jacking the bridge up to get rid of the buzz. It does get better raising the action, but I already feel its way too high and still a little buzz. Any ideas on what I should do to get this thing set up? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it may have a couple of high frets. You can try hitting the high frets (8th and 13th) with a small hammer to see if that helps. If not, just take it to a luthier and have him check the neck, fretboard and all the frets.

Thanks Figaro. I will try that. Think giving the neck a little more relief might solve the problem? I'm letting it set right now from adjusting a tad earlier.

More relief might work but I prefer very little relief. A good luthier should be able to make it play like butta!

Hey Figaro... Just wanted to update. I took your advice and just took it down to a luthier that I've taken a few guitars before. And you were right, plays like butter now. And you were also exactly right on the high frets, for he took a hammer to two and it ceased the buzz. So kudos for that! Thanks so much for taking the time to give me some help. It is much appreciated!

I had some high fret issues on my new MIC Casino as well. Tech fixed me up.

Looks like they need to address that Kmaz if they already haven't. Mines a 2013. And your not the only other one I know that had the problem either. But once it's fixed, it's plays and sounds great!

Yes, I've heard the complaint a few times also. Mine is a mid-2014 model but it still feels like I just got it. :)
