Sounds like more 'Plexi' top end, right? (intro clip)

    Nice clean.

Wow. Impressed. Happy it will be in my hands soon. :banana

They're gonna sell a bunch off this vid. Versatility is sick.

It does sound a little brighter and more present in the upper mids than the BE-100 demos I've heard. Not blown away by the demo, but Sweetwater can make a great amp sound awful.

They barely scratched the Surface, obviously. But what I heard was to my liking. The clean channel seems better than the regular BE100 channel and the overall BE and HBE channels seem to be brighter and meanier than the regular BE100.

With all the new knobs and options and playing more with the EQ knobs Im sure it would sound awesome. Seems to be really versatile.

How can this amp cheaper than the BE100 but with tons more features?

    It's 50 watts.

And let's be real, Friedman amps are pricy. I don't think it costs 3000$ more to do a BE100 than a DSL, but I understand they are different products with different profit margin for a variety of legitimate reasons.

This is the new Flagship for sure, beats the BE easily.

Only a matter of time until they have the BE-100 Deluxe.

Why not? They've updated the BE100 a lot as it is. This BE50 Deluxe seems to be the next evolution of the entire BE series. Now they can make a BE100 Deluxe for $4k and give a couple more options to folks...

Dave already said on Tone Talk back in October that a 100w Deluxe was happening and that it would replace the BE-100.

I watched the Sweetwater video. Do you guys enjoy that high-gain tone that the lefty guitarist was getting? I really don't like listening to that sound. Maybe it's fun to play that style (with all that compression) for a minute or so, but after that, yuck. The thought that comes to mind is that it's just annoying, like a fly buzzing around your head is annoying. Just curious if that's just me.

I noticed when Dave talks about the saturation switch...it’s kinda like he has a look on his face and body language that says “I don’t care for this diode clipping, but guys want tons of gain so here ya go”

Yeah, I really don't like the tones he gets. At one point he says he's cranked the bass and treble and scooped the mids, that may explain why it sounds like mush. I thought the LP and Strat stuff sounded great though. It sounds like this amp can be dialed in to have a little more upper mid bite than Friedman amps do typically.
