He's one of my guitar idols.
SS is the Total Package, incredible Talent.
He's a bedroom player.
that thing sounds like it would be pretty amazing in person!
Haha! When I was watching the video I kept thinking "now this is a bedroom amp".
It was loud!......outside the room ...and down the hall...
I didn't even notice, what's with the two post head board in the background? Now that's a gear junky bedroom if I ever saw one!
Love it, love SS, thanks for posting
Loved how clear the lead's sound- like there's less gain than there actually is.
Very impressive raw but nice harmonically rich tone.
Bedroom Amp- for moving the small bedroom furniture by playing............
I'm thinking hotel room at NAMM...
How much is she gonna cost? $3k?
I recall hearing about this months (year?) ago and it seemed to be a slightly altered Marsha.
All I can add to this thread is this: If all you know about SS is his work with Billy Idol, then you must check out his work with Black Light Syndrome. As in:
I heard it's a Brown Eye style gain with more hair on it and no diodes.
The Steve Stevens amp is based off the Marsha that Steve has been playing for the past couple of years. Like Dan said, its got more hair on the lead channel and is more open sounding to my ears. The amp will have a full switchable clean channel and Metro FX Loop. The amp sounds fantastic at low and high volumes.
Dave and Steve are gonna do some final tweaking and then she will be ready for production. Price will be 3500.00
Rough ETA on this?
Will Steve sign them?
Can I marry his wife?
Can I have his job?
Is that totally uncool to ask?
It would go well with this:
Thanks for posting! Saw some pictures and was wondering what those offset heads were.
Jim S. - what's the LP you posted and those pickups?
I was there- it was fck-all loud!
FWIW- Steve didn't sign off on the prototype amp- He wanted more gain and some other tweaks.
There was a thread on Rig-Talk, detailing the whole demo and Steve Stevens even chimed in personally on the thread saying there was No SS Signature model Friedman Amp at this time. He was also given a guitar as a gift and he pointed out that he was Not associated with nor endorsed the guitar line.
Thread is still up, didn't see SS posts? Not trying to cause a shitstorm, just think it's a really kewl amp.
Friedman said they're going to add a gain/boost and change some cosmetics, it's a work in progress.
'Sounds meaty! More gain tho? It sounded right on time to me, but whatever...
