Anyone tried both these Amps, what's the difference?
I own the BE100 and love it, but lately I have been curious about the SS model, how different are they? Or how similar?
Most of the write up and reviews that I have seen have been centered on a BE100.

Friedman one N.... And it's Stevens, not Stevenson :)

I believe the SS has 6L6s?

Nope.... el34s....Specs look pretty much the same, the BE has the fat, sat, and c45 mods, the SS just has a boost

Yes, I just a/b'd both Tuesday. First of all I have to say the Friedman line is incredible. I was able to play the Smallbox, Pink Tack, Dirty Shirley, SS and BE100 (which I own) through various Friedman cabs. I love my BE100 which is the most recent version and was very excited to play the SS after listening to so many good clips. But alternating from the BE100 to the SS, back and forth through a Friedman 4x12, the SS has some dark mids that I could not dial out. This may be just what someone else is looking for but not the voicing I like. So for me its off my list. The Smallbox however blew me away. That amp through the Friedman 2x12 was just rediculously good. I may have to get one. By the way the Friedman 4x12 is outstanding. I have one in shipping to me now after hearing it with the BE100.

Shampoo- thanks much. I will try to find an SS to checkout. I agree the BE100 is ridiculously awesome, and I have its 4x12 cab as well. The SS has me curious though. And will also listen to the Smallbox.

The SS isn't too terribly far off from the BE. It's a bit more vintagey. Gotta turn the knobs more to BE levels of gain or brightness. I feel like it's somewhere between the BE and Dirty Shirley as far as gain and feel. It's a pretty great amp. Dig it.
