    Hi there,
Experimenting with the front and rear mic recording.
Amp is Laney 6V6 tube combo with Celestion G12 Century speaker.
Using IMC Neodymium mic capsules in front of the speaker, about 5 cm out of the centre and 1 cm from the grill.
Rear capsule is fixed on the speaker and mic’s membrane is parallel to speaker cone near the centre, about 4 cm from it.
Both mics have separate XLR outs wired in opposite faze.
Both mics were recorded simultaneously on separate channels and later mixed differently.
    Results:
Clean – 1. front mic; 2. rear mic; 3. both mics paned Left-Right ( stereo)but sounds mono; 4. both mics in centre, front 100% and rear 30% in the mix.
    Overdrive – same as clean.
Takes are separated by cymbal crash.

    That was pretty cool.

Interesting to put a mic on the rear. For recording nubs like me, stuff like this is a great tool for experimenting. Now...if I only had a) 1 more mic and b) 2 more mic cables.

You are correct! It is hard to tell difference between clean sound samples, when on overdriven sounds rear mic sounds really nasal, but adds nice lows when recorded together with front one MONO.
