this was a quicky noodle playing through the Fryette Power Station.

    there is no other amp being used, here;
i'm going straight into the power-section of the PS.

my Ronin Freaked Mirari guitar >>> 2 pedals >>> the Power Station's line-in:
    1) a Skreddy Screwdriver (used late in the noodle), and
    2) a Fryette SAS (which was used for just an little bit of hair, until after i kicked in the Skreddy).
do NB that the SAS has no dedicated tone controls.

in the FX-loop of the PS were:
    1) a Lexicon PCM42, and
    2) a Neunaber Slate Reverb.

the cabinet was my Bob Burt 2x12.

i do alter things as i go..... pretty regularly: knobs, tone & volume controls, etc.

recorded live on an iPhone 4S; mixed quickly in Logic.

    well, then:

and, 2 more..... different ones, from the other side:

here's the Power Station in use w/ my Fryette Pitbull 45 amp, a Basic Audio Zippy fuzz, my lexicon delay & neunaber reverb:

and the same, below, but replacing the Zippy with the Basic Audio Alter Destiny:

    I like your clip.

I also tried out my SAS (briefly) with my PS. I like it. The aforementioned lack of tone controls on the SAS might cause some to feel this combination isn't "flexible" but it certainly does sound good!

    thanks, j!

    yes, it does!
    i seemed to enjoy recording it best with something like the "screwdriver" in front of it, when "no proper guitar pre-amp" is involved;
frankly, the bogner wessex (pedal) also sounded pretty damned amazing straight into the PS.

i think that the PS is fantastic!

Thanks, David, for expanding our minds... again and again. I'm happy to say I'm a geezer groupie...
I also love my Power Station - such a versatile device - like a sonic speed-ball, it'll calm or boost... with an FX loop to boot! I use it to get the most out of my Aether... it's a whole new ballgame!

I have to admit, as much as I'm a Fryette geek, a few seconds into these clips and I'm not thinking about gear no more. I'm just trippin' on vibe... you're a titan DT!

David.....You, the music, and the Power Station are all sounding amazing.....If I may ask, I'm wondering if you tried the PS without a speaker...as in silent/direct recording as mentioned on the Fryette site......thanks......James

    Hi David,
Robbie Stewart in North Carolina here. Long time follower of your wonderful playing & composing.
I wanted to turn you on to a new delay pedal that I have purchased. It is made by the Caroline Guitar Company
and is called the Kilobytre LO-FI Delay. It is a wonderful LO-FI delay that has 2 footswitches, the second is called
"Havoc" & when you press it you get all kinds of aural havoc that is very, very cool.
Thanks for the gear overview. Now I just don't know what fuzz I want to get. It will probably be
    one of Paul T's.
    Best Regards,
    Robbie

Just curious, as I have no experience with attenuators, and freely admit ignorance on this topic: What is stopping someone from reamping the signal themselves, through a clean amp head? Isn't there a cheaper way of doing that than buying a Power Station, if you already have a spare clean amp, say, and both your amps have loops?

Nothing prevents you from doing it yourself. Cheaper? Maybe. But the Power Station is a pretty reasonably priced product for what it is.

are you misunderstanding something about attenuation, maybe?

    hi, robbie!
    thanks much.

    i know!
oddly enough, if you listen to my newest solo recording on ecm, "only sky", you will definitely hear the caroline kilobyte delay on tracks #1, 4, 7 & 9!
