    SOLD!!!!

For sale is my Hiwatt half stack. It's a 1974 DR103 and 1974 SE4123 4x12 cab. Both sound fantastic.

The amp still has the original caps. There are no symptoms of the caps being bad, so I left them. The switches have been replaced with higher quality Carling switches since one was dead. There are no mods or any other changes to the head. There are currently Japanese 6CA7's power tubes installed, however these tubes need to be replaced. They are horribly unmatched. I was going to replace them, however the I decided to leave that up to whomever buys the amp. Preamp tubes are a mix of JJ's and EH's. As you can see, the amp is initialed by Harry Joyce.

The cab has stamped Fane speakers. This is the best sounding Hiwatt cab of the four that I have owned over the years. Interestingly, the others had cast Fanes. The speakers are all original and have the original cones. One speaker had a very slight coil rub, that I was able to fix using the Weber coil rub fix found on the vintage Hiwatt message board (found here http://www.vintagehiwattconvention....=11&t=22&sid=86e421e9daca3657aefdaad688869ae7 ). Now that it's fixed, there is no rub at all. Sounds perfect.

Sale price is $3299 shipped and Paypaled. The only partial trades I will consider are: Guitars - Johnny Marr Jaguar (that's it, don't offer me any other guitars), Amps: Matchless Chieftain, Chief, or HC-85 heads or a Bad Cat Cub III head. Pedals: Rockett Archer, Fromel Shape EQ, or Frantone Sweet. I might be open to other pedals.

That's just beautiful. I can just imagine standing in front of that pair. Amp cranked and my pants just flapping in the breeze. What fun.
