Has anybody re-tubed a FTR37?... I've had mine for a few years and am planning to do so, but would like to know something about the biasing process on these. I believe it has an internal pot to adjust the bias current, but would like to hear some advice before moving ahead.

I've tried emailing Fred, but his email is bouncing me back lately (not sure why, I have exchanged mails with him previously). Of course I could phone him, but the hour difference makes that tricky from Spain.

    Thanks much in advance!

I haven't biased that particular amp, but if there is an adjustable internal bias pot, then it will be just like every other amp with an adjustable internal bias pot. Shouldn't be anything extra.

And if this is the case, the easiest way to bias is with a "bias probe". Something like the Bias King, Bias Rite, etc.

Fred just told me to use JJ valves through out and adjust it to 26.5 mA per 6v6GT
