I'm curious why you'd use an overdrive pedal over the amp's overdrive, Tomo - ?

Different flavors - the CJOD absolutely KILLS in front of the Fuchs ODS!

Smokin' tone Tomo and great playing as always! The Tone Spotter sounds really good!

Fuchs 50's OD tone is amazing! Mine has OD CH & OD boost.

I use both. More choices. I just CJOD pedal too.

Fuchs 50 LX is known for great sounding OD tone, but
this amp makes wonderful clean tone.

Here is an example. Same setting,

    my Fuchs 50 SLX
    Gain 4
    Treble 7
    middle 5
    bass 4
    Master 4
    Presence 2
    Reverb 2.5

    Version R Sakashta.

    Tomo,

The clip with the Strat sounds excellent. The CJOD works well and definately changes the voicing of the overdrive.

Unfortunately, the 335 link is not complete (missing the file name) but would really like to hear it!!

Your playing is outstanding as ever.

    Hi Deaj,

That's right. Great amp, great pedal. It's nice to have
    both.

Thank you so much for your word. Actually after I saw your

recoding on Tascam tape! And I trasfer to my pro tools.

Did you hear my ES 335 Rear clip?
    I have more 335s clips.

    Hi Gary,

Thank you for listening. I really appreciate your words.

I have one CJOD for lower gain, another one for
    higher gain.

Sorry about the link. I move so fast! I should slow
    down.

Hope you like my ES335 clip. Do you know this tune?

C... E7....A7....D-7... This is one of teaching tool tune.

    That 's good question!

    I only own one mic.

Shure 57. I need to buy a mic for acoustic.

    Thank you for listening.

    Funky Ukulele

This is my Ukulele.... I did use same mic on amp. I wish I had a condenser mic?

Great clips of the CJOD, i just got mine and it sound exactly like that, exept that the playing is NOT on that level ;) .
At first i thought the CJOD was slightly nasal through my Mystique Blue Star but compered to a BB-preamp and Banzai FireBall 1 the cjod OD is MUCH clearer. Especially the attack of the tone, when youhit the string is the clearest i have heard from a pedal with that level of distortion. And the bloom is slightly nasal compered to the Blue Star (what isen't??) but much better than most pedals.
More testing and clips will come.

    Thank you so much!

You got the CJOD. Great to hear that.

Maybe some amps has too much mids?

Clay designed the cjod for my settiing, which
my amp doesn't have that much mid, bass,
    very nutural sound.

Look forward to your clips too.

    Hi Marcello,

Thank you for listening. Thank you for your comment.
I think the Tonespotter sound very even and balanced.

You're welcome. I am trying the Red Ryder now.
Very punchy and great sounding speakers.

The Red Fang.... I like these too.

About settiing. My setting is very easy
    more treble
    middle mid
    less bass,
    I don't touch it.

    Gain is usually around 4.
Volume was very soft 2.5-3 around there.

Well the blue Star is very full and widerange, it sound a bit like a blackface but with out scooped mids and with more highs and lows:rolleyes: ... So I my problem is not so much the little "mid hump" it i srather that it sort of limits the highs.
That being said the CJOD is the best sounding OD/DIST i tried with this amp...the RC booster is a great boost and the CJOD ads amazinf distortion sound.

I really LIKE the CJOD i was just hoping that it would sound more like the OD in The Blue Star, but as you describe with the Fuchs it is a different flavor, not better or worse different... Now i will try it with other amps.

And again, i think that you're clips with the Fuchs and CJOD id VERY, very close to the sound i get with the Mytsique Blue Star and the CJOD, so in short great clips that let you hear how the pedal sound:)

    Keep em coming :dude

    Thank you for writing.

My black face Fenders are all stock. I mean I kept stock even though all caps were changed.
I use many Eminence speakers. My Fuchs 50 SLX also voiced very even sound. I like kind of
bright, enough brightness so that I can really control my picking nuances. Very very sensitive,
if you pick hard, not sound great for this setting. Your picking become being sort of
    second volume control.

How about set your amp more brighter side and not too much bass?

This clip is just amp od. '67 ES335 's rear pickup,
guitar volume around 8, so less gain, light od setting.

    Tomo,
I just put a tonespotter into my Fuchs 30 combo (non slx). I really like the difference in the clean channel with my Suhr strat, but now I don't like the tone with the OD....too thin not enough body in the mids. I opened the amp and turned the post overdrive tone stack mids up, and also inside the amp I turned the overdrive input treble down, and the overdrive input gain up. I'm used to gigging outside, but the OD channel still sounded thin at my gig yesterday (picture),
    [IMG]

so I may use the rock switch to get more overall mids into the OD channel, but that also affects the clean channel.

    Anyway,
Do you have any clips of the tonespotter, your strat, and the Fuch's overdrive and no pedals?

    Thanks --Eric
